Bioreactor Maintenance & Monthly Care

While the Living Water Automated Microbial Bioreactor is designed for automated operation, routine maintenance is required to ensure consistent performance and long-term system reliability. Each month, when you receive your SoilPHIX microbial recharge, maintenance should always be performed prior to introducing the new microbes. This simple process helps maintain proper flow, oxygenation, and biological effectiveness.

SoilPHIX Recharge Pack
SoilPHIX Recharge Pack
  • Disconnect the water hose from the bioreactor filter housing

  • Remove and clean the hose water filter, thoroughly rinsing away any debris using fresh, clean water

Monthly Bioreactor Maintenance Checklist
  • Shut down the system by turning off both the water and power sources

  • Remove the bioreactor from the IBC tote

  • Clean the following submerged components using fresh water only: float valve, air stones, circulation pump

  • Inspect all circulation lines for any buildup or blockage and clear if necessary

  • Reinstall the bioreactor back into the IBC tote

  • Reconnect the water source and restore power to the system

  • Verify proper circulation and aeration before proceeding

  • Introduce the SoilPHIX recharge pack into the bioreactor through the open fill port (For best results, use a clean funnel to prevent microbial spillage)

Performing this monthly maintenance ensures optimal system operation, protects microbial performance, and keeps your Living Water system running efficiently throughout the growing season.
